The Search Engines
There are four search engines available for querying the intron
annotation data stored in this database:
-
To find introns using criteria like species and gene name or class and
terminal dinucleotides or any combination of the above, use the
main search.
-
An exhaustive list of search options is available from the
advanced search.
-
To search for only U12-dependent introns using simple search criteria,
use the U12 search.
-
To view sequences of orthologous introns side-by-side, use the
ortholog search. Note that
you will need to find a particular ortholog cluster ID or intron ID using
one of the other search engines in order to use this search engine
directly.

To download BED or FASTA files containing intron annotation or sequence
information, go to the
downloads page.

For detailed information about how the various search engines work, how the
data in the database was acquired, and how the orthologous relationships
between introns were determined, see the
about page.
Make Your Own IAOD
If the genomes you're interested in aren't in this version of the IAOD,
consider using the command-line version to generate your own database from
your own genome annotation and sequence files:
cmdline-iaod.
